Foreign Film Picks

Flick 4 Friday is up and running again! Goody!

It’s never a bad thing to try to broaden our horizons. Give us a cool foreign language film to watch as we cozy up on the couch next week.

Well, I am a foreign film fan, so my collection consists of movies from several countries. If you are looking for romance, try: Dear Frankie or Solomon & Gaenor (both from the U.K.). Dear Frankie is in English but Solomon & Gaenor is in Yiddish, Welsh and English. If slightly warped romance is more your style, watch: The Princess and the Warrior (Der Krieger und die Kaiserin, Germany) or Love Me If You Dare (Jeux d’enfants, France). For drama I recommend: Whale Rider (New Zealand) and Hero (Ying xiong, China). Whale Rider is English as well.

In truth, there are just too many to mention, but the few I provided are a fine start to cozy up with next week. Technically, 50% of my picks aren’t foreign language. Oh well, they’re enjoyable none-the-less.
